“The Man Who Married Himself”

The Man Who Married Himself is a story about how Oliver married himself. Oliver one day started thinking about the person that he wants to marry and he thought that the perfect person for him is himself. By getting to that conclusion he realizes that he wants to marry himself. Oliver talked about it with Reverend Zatarga and he said that nowhere in the Bible is a rule about marrying ourselves. His mother wouldn’t take it seriously, his father was mad for years and his best friends took everything as a joke. When the years passed he started thinking about how he was going to have a family especially a kid, he decided that he wanted to get a divorce. Now, he has a wife and they expect a baby.
In my opinion, he didn’t take a good decision because when you do take a good decision you don’t regret it and Oliver did regret it. Some people want to spend their life without a significant other and they feel fine with that. Other people want to have a significant other with who they can spend their rest of their life together. For me, Oliver was thinking that he would be happy alone but in a moment he felt lonely and wanted more.
Oliver has really crazy story and in that he had problems with his family and friends since they didn’t support him in his decision. He learned that the decision he took wasn’t a good one. I think that yes, you can have time by yourself but I don’t think that they should ignore the world around them. People need to feel happy and even though you can feel happy by yourself, you can feel happy with someone else too.
